Our history:
Our story begins at the Royal Dublin Golf Company of Springfield, Kentucky. After gaining industry recognition, and developing several unique patents for different styles of golf bags, our founders decided to form Steurer & Jacoby®.
Demand for our vintage-inspired designs continued to grow through the 80's and 90's, so we began introducing new products to build out Steurer & Jacoby® as not just a golf line, but a luxury lifestyle and travel line. This lead to the development of our collection of duffel bags, our accessory collections including shaving kits, as well as our range of customizable purses and wristlets.
Today, the Steurer & Jacoby® brand is under new ownership (our founder is taking a well-deserved retirement). But we continue to be a family-owned business for golf club carriers, luggage, and other golf accessories with a commitment to classic style, high quality, and tradition.
Our bags are now manufactured St. Paul, MN alongside the highest quality musical instrument gig bags through Glenn Cronkhite Custom Cases and Torpedo Bags. As part of our environmental and sustainability commitments, we also work with Disco Doggy, a company that uses the scrap leather, foam, and fabric generated during production to make quality, long-lasting dog beds and accessories.
Through all the years and changes, S&J® remains committed to the same principles as when it was founded in 1981:
- High Quality Raw Materials: Every leather hide that goes into our products is selected from American tanneries. We use waxed cotton duck canvas fabric that comes from finishing mills in New Jersey and North Carolina. We use only brass plated steel hardware.
- Craftsmanship: Every item is brought to life by skilled artisans based in the United States of America.
Each item is handcrafted one at a time, meticulously handled and individually inspected, to ensure it is a testament to the style, quality, and tradition of the Steurer & Jacoby® brand.
